Kim ClijsterS receives Wildcard for Indian Wells
The former world ranking knit Kim Clijsters gets the next chance to her first victory in Indian Wells (from 6th October). Thanks to a wildcard, Belgian returns to the top tournament in the California desert, which she had won in 2003 and 2005.
Clijsters (38) has been trying since last year to keep up with the partially much younger competitors. So far in vain. After a knee surgery and a corona infection she played in Chicago last week in Chicago her first match 2021, which she was just lost against Hsseh Su-Wei (Taiwan).
Mother of three children
I have made progress, that s most important, said Clijsters, who had left the profitour in 2012. Already in 2007, Clijsters declared her career for completing, but after the birth of her daughter with two titles in the US Open (2009, 2010) and one returned to Australian Open (2011) more successful than ever. Meanwhile, Clijster s has three children.
