Call of Duty Next: An Engine for all future shooters
Activision recently announced the publication of a successor to Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 and Call of Duty: Warzone 2 known for this year. Both titles are developed by Infinity Ward and set the same, new engine.
Talking to the well-known Youtuber Jackfrags now confirmed Patrick Kelly, co-studio ladder of Infinity Ward that all future call of duty games will be based on the same engine. At the new engine, Kelly should be a massive improvement over the current toolset.
Above all, the steady integration of the latest Call of Duty offshoot in the Battle Royale Shooter Call of Duty: Warzone and its successor Warzone 2 will benefit this new strategy.
As so far, the three developer studios Infinity Ward, Tryarch and Sledgehammer Games alternately took care of the new series offshoots, and each put on their own version of the Call of Duty Engine, in the past, there were always technical problems with integration.
